Easton, Connecticut – The first day of qualifying was held on Monday August 19th at The Connecticut Golf Club to determine the field for the 2019 New England Senior Amateur Championship, which will be contested on September 17-18 at Biddeford-Saco Country Club in Saco, ME.

On this day in Easton, a total of 30 competitors representing five of six New England Golf Association states advanced to the Championship Proper following an 18-hole qualifier where the cut line fell at 11-over par 83. Those 13 competitors have earned themselves a spot at next month's Championship, while four additional players finished as alternates and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the New England Golf Association Policies and Procedures Page.
Tom Brett, a member at Tallwood Country Club (CT) led the way on the day, as he finished with a score of 1-over par 73 and carded a total of four birdies on the day, to secure a playing spot in the 22nd New England Senior Amateur Championship. Finishing solo second overall after posting a score of 2-over par 74 was Jeff Dolin (Manchester CC – CT)
