2017 New England Amateur Qualifying Schedule
This year’s Championship Proper, the oldest of the NEGA’s three annual tournaments, features four qualifiers in three states. Interested amateur golfers who hold membership in a club belonging to one of the six New England State Golf Associations and have an up-to-date USGA/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4 will be eligible to register for the event.
Qualifying sites will be capped at 84 players and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Players may only register for one qualifier but may choose any of the available qualifiers regardless of the host state and/or location.
On June 12, the Golf Club at Oxford Greens in Oxford, Connecticut will open qualifying play. Three days later, GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass. will host the second with Agawam Hunt Club in Rhode Island (June 27) and the Country Club of Greenfield in Massachusetts (June 29) hosting the remaining two qualifiers.
Registration for the 2017 New England Golf Association Amateur Championship will open on Thursday, March 16 and remain open until June 1. Additionally, this year, a new payment system will be put into issue beginning this season.
All exempt players will submit a full entry fee of $250 at the time of registration. All players registering for a sectional qualifier will be charged $125, an additional $125 will be charged to those who successfully advance through sectional qualifying.
