Format: Invitational event, where seven (7) junior boy golfers and three (3) junior girl golfers from each of the New England state golf associations are selected to compete in a 54 hole team and individual stroke play competition. Selection process and criteria is determined by each state golf association. Boys and girls will compete for separate team and individual titles. Team scores are calculated by taking the best 5 out of 7 scores each day for the boys division and best 2 out of 3 scores for the girls. Low 54 hole team score will be named the team champion(s). Low 54 individual will be named the individual champion(s).
Schedule:
Day 1 - Practice round and dinner
Day 2 - Morning shotgun, lunch, afternoon shotgun, followed by dinner
Day 3 - Morning shotgun, followed by lunch and awards
WAGR Counting Event: The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women’s ranking and a men’s ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on www.wagr.com and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.
AJGA PBE Status: The American Junior Golf Association will be awarding the boys runner-up through 5th place finishers (and ties) with 4 performance based stars. The 6th - 10th place finishers will receive 1 star. The champion will receive 8 stars. The girls champion will receive 2 performance based stars, while Runner-Up and 3rd place will receive 1 star.
