20 Advance from the Second New England Amateur Qualifier at Agawam Hunt Club (RI)

Rumford, Rhode Island – On the second day of qualifying for the 2018 New England Amateur Championship, being contested from July 17-19 at Portland Country Club in Portland, Maine, 20 competitors at Rumford’s Agawam Hunt Club earned entrance into the Championship Proper.

The firm and windy conditions of Agawam Hunt Club held tough as the cutline was held at 4-over par. No player was able to break par on this 6,100 yard, par-69 layout. Alex Jamieson (Marshfield CC) and Chris Francoeur (Amesbury Golf & CC) – both Massachusetts residents – shared medalist honors with scores of a 1-over par 70.
Seven additional competitors who posted scores of 6-over par 75 were named alternates and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the New England Golf Association Policies and Procedures Page..
