Blackstone National GC (MA) Helps to Usher in 18 at Third Day of New England Amateur Qualifying

Sutton, Massachusetts – On the third day of qualifying for the 2018 New England Amateur Championship, being contested from July 17-19th at Portland Country Club in Portland, Maine, a total of 18 competitors at Blackstone National Golf Club earned entrance into the Championship Proper.

Three others earned alternate spots and will be placed on a priority list per the Alternate Policy, which can be found on the New England Golf Association Policies and Procedures Page.
Celebrating its 89th year, the New England Amateur Championship is one of the oldest 72-hole amateur championships in the country. The Championship Proper field is comprised of exempt competitors as well as those who advance through qualifying.
On this day at Blackstone National Golf Club, Brett Krekorian of Indian Ridge Country Club (MA) was one of three players to register an under-par-round, earning medalist honors after posting a score of 5-under par 67. Earlier this month, Krekorian finished as the low amateur at the 2018 Massachusetts Open Championship.
The two other competitors to finish under par for the day were Nicholas Hampoian of Golf Club of New England (NH), who turned in a score of 2-under par 70, and Jake Hollander of The Shattuch Golf Club (NH) who posted a 1-under par 71.
