Entry Procedures
All players must apply through the NEGA Online Entry process by the deadline date. Each NEGA competition has a designated field limit. The NEGA Championship Committee reserves the right to reject an entry at any time. To be eligible for any NEGA Championship, a player must be a member in good standing* of one of the six New England Golf Associations. Please contact your home state Allied Golf Association to learn about membership and eligibility. The NEGA reserves the right to accept late entries for Championships/Qualifiers is space is available and circumstances warrant the acceptance. This decision is at the sole discretion of the NEGA Tournament Committee and late entries will only be accepted in rare situations.
Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the NEGA Online Entry process by 5:00 pm EST on the published entry deadline.
Qualifier Waitlist Policy
Due to demand, many qualifiers for NEGA events receive more applications than the maximum field size. Once a qualifier has reached maximum capacity, a waitlist is formed in order that entries are received.
A player who wishes to request an exemption into a NEGA Championship must do so by submitting a formal request. Exemption requests must be submitted to the NEGA Staff (e-mail: [email protected]) at least 10 days prior to the published entry deadline for the specific Championship. Exemption requests are reviewed by the NEGA Championship Committee on a case-by-case basis and only granted under exceptional circumstances. Along with the letter of request, players must also submit a playing resume that includes any golf awards, championships, top finishes and/or accomplishments from the last 5 years (local and national).
Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors who have submitted an entry for an NEGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason must notify the NEGA via e-mail or phone. Refunds for qualifiers and/or Championships are based on the refund policy and timeline listed below.
7+ Days prior to the qualifier/event - Full Refund less $20 Admin Fee
2 - 6 Days prior to the qualifier/event - 50% Refund
0-1 Days prior to the qualifier/event - No Refund
*For WD/Refunds received after a qualifier but prior to the Championship Proper, refunds apply (following the guidelines above) only to the "Second Half" payment for players that successfully qualified.
Starting Times and Player Information
Shortly after close of entries -- or after the last qualifier concludes for Championships -- competitors will be notified via e-mail of their starting times and player information (including the availability of practice privileges).
Alternate Policy
For ALL NEGA Championships Proper an alternate pool will be formed that includes ALL players from each qualifying site with the next best score after the cutline.
After sectional qualifying all players in the pool will then be randomly selected and ranked by number as alternates. The alternate list for each Championship Proper will be published, posted online and updated as players are added to the Championship Proper. If additional alternates are needed, the NEGA reserves the right to complete the same process outlined above for all competitors with the next best score after the alternate score.
An alternate can be placed into the Championship Proper field in two ways;
NOTE: This alternate policy will only be enforced if the Championship Proper field becomes less than the maximum number of competitors permitted per championship.
Rules of Golf
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA for all NEGA competitions. Questions shall be settled by the Committee in charge of the competitions consisting of those officials assigned by the NEGA, whose decision shall be final.
Distance-Measuring Devices
Players are allowed to get information on distance or direction using a distance-measuring device or compass in all NEGA Championships (See Rule 4.3(1)). However, at no time may a player use a device or equipment to measure elevation changes, or to interpret distance or directional information (such as using a device to get a recommended line of play or club selection based on the location of the player's ball).

Unless otherwise stipulated in Player Information, and at the discretion of the host club and the Championship Committee, spectators are permitted at all NEGA Championships & qualifiers. Spectators must walk with a group or group(s) and must not interfere with play from any group on the golf course. Spectators are not permitted to ride in a golf cart during any Championship or qualifier. Spectators who require the use of transportation due to a medical condition MUST request the use of a golf cart prior to arrival at the event. To request a golf cart for a mobility impaired spectator, please click here.

Qualifier Waitlist Policy
Due to demand, many qualifiers for NEGA events receive more applications than the maximum field size. Once a qualifier has reached maximum capacity, a waitlist is formed in order that entries are received.
- Players may only submit an entry for one qualifier - whether it is a waitlist or a spot in the qualifying field.
- Players are not permitted to be on multiple waitlists, register for multiple qualifiers, or stay on a waitlist and register for a qualifier with available capacity.
- Players on a waitlist may transfer to a site with capacity at any time by e-mailing NEGA staff.
- Historically, most players from a waitlist will get into the qualifier of their choice during the registration process as players withdraw from qualifying events. A player on the waitlist will be automatically promoted to the qualifier and have their credit card charged when a spot becomes available. It is the responsibility of the player on the waitlist to inform NEGA staff if they no longer wish to remain on the waitlist.

- Please Note - If due to the number of advancing players from qualifiers, the field size exceeds the maximum capacity (144 for Amateur, 120 for Senior Amateur) alternates will not replace players until the field size gets below the maximum capacity for the Championship.
- To fill a spot of either an exempt or qualified player who withdraws before the event begins.
- In the event of any no-shows or last minute withdrawals, alternates will be permitted to be on site during a championship proper to fill those spots.
- The highest ranked alternate ON-SITE will have priority.
NOTE: This alternate policy will only be enforced if the Championship Proper field becomes less than the maximum number of competitors permitted per championship.
